WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR THERMOGRAPHY APPOINTMENT

Thermography is a totally non-invasive, painless imaging procedure.  It is as safe as having your picture taken.  There is no radiation and the breast tissue is not compressed by any equipment. There is no contact between the thermal camera and your body. There are no contraindications to thermography, and it is completely risk-free.

The medical-grade DITI camera and equipment do not emit ANY radiation. There are no injections, and you will not have to drink a contrast solution.

Typically, the entire screening process can take between 15 and 60 minutes to complete.

In a private room, you will remove all jewelry, body piercings and disrobe from the waist up, for both the Breast and Wellness Studies. If you have scheduled a Full Body Screening, then you will need to remove all clothing. Wearing your underwear is optional, but not recommended. You will be given a sanitized gown or cape to wear. Your skin temperature must properly acclimate to the ambient room temperature of 70 degrees. This is very important for the accuracy of the imaging. After removing your gown, a few images will be taken to verify that your body has acclimated to the room temperature. The imaging screening process will begin once your temperature has adjusted.

You can request a standing privacy screen that will be placed between you and the thermographer, providing additional comfort and privacy for the duration of the imaging process.

You will need to keep your hair off your face, neck, and shoulders. You may bring your own hair clips, ties, and headbands. Or, we can provide them for you.

Once all the imaging has been completed, the Certified Clinical Thermographer will review your patient history and images. Some additional imaging may be needed before your case is submitted for interpretation. Our thermographic studies are interpreted by a global team of board-certified radiologists with extensive experience in both general diagnostic and breast imaging, as well as medical doctors who are Certified Thermologists. They have all been trained and certified to interpret thermograms by the American College of Clinical Thermography. Your report will include their findings and make necessary recommendations.

Your final report will be generated along with your images and forwarded to you and your referring physician and/or practitioner.
